The Economics Department at the University of Calgary will host the sixth annual Rocky Mountain Empirical Trade Conference. Economists specializing in empirical economic research on issues relating to international trade and investment will present their latest research at this meeting.

The conference is open to other attendees whose papers are not on the program. There is no entry fee, but space is limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis for those not on the program. If you plan to attend but not to present a paper, please follow the registration link below.

Conference Format: The conference will begin in the morning on Friday and will continue through the following Sunday at noon. The program will include a total of 15 papers, with one hour per paper devoted to presentation, discussant remarks, and open discussion.

The conference is being held at the Banff Centre in the heart of Banff National Park. Banff is a spectacular location and is beautiful in the spring time. The conference organizers are planning activities to take advantage of our unique location. There will be a Welcoming Beer night at Banff Centre Pub; Morning running tours of Banff; and an afternoon hike to Tunnel Mountain (weather permitting) and/or Sulfur mountain which includes a gondola ride and a visit to hot pools. For those more adventurous (and with time before or after the conference) Spring Skiing is great fun and will still be open at Sunshine.

Keynote Speaker:

Jonathan Eaton, Brown University
