Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and Keio University will host the fourteenth annual Empirical Investigations in Trade and Investment (EITI) Conference. Economists specializing in empirical economic research on issues relating to international trade and investment from North America, Europe, and Asia will present their latest research at this meeting.

The conference is open to other attendees whose papers are not on the program. There is no entry fee, but space is limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis for those not on the program. If you plan to attend but not to present a paper, please follow the registration link below.

Conference Format:

The conference will begin in the morning on Thursday and will continue through the following Saturday at noon. The program will include a total of 15 papers, with one hour per paper devoted to presentation (40 mins), discussant remarks (10 mins), and open discussion (10 mins).

All participants are expected to attend all sessions on the three days of the conference.

Travel Funding:

  • The conference budget is fairly generous. We certainly have the funds to cover travel expenses of those presenting papers and will likely have some limited funding to cover the expenses of discussants as well.
  • Note: We will be reimbursing discount economy class air fare and 4 nights of lodging at the conference hotel.

Submissions:

  • The submission deadline has passed.
  • Successful authors will be notified by December 31, 2019.

Conference Facility:

The conference will be held in a meeting room in the hotel.
